Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What exactly is creative coaching?
A: Creative Coaching is an alternative or addition to traditional talk therapy. You set your goals, and I help you discover creative solutions to find your own answers. I bring a large toolbox of methods and a long history of applying these for myself and others. The process is entirely customized to meet your specific needs.
Q: How is creative coaching different from traditional talk therapy?
A: While traditional talk therapy often focuses on verbalizing problems and validating feelings, creative coaching, while also validating your feelings, emphasizes a shift in perspective to actively handle those issues. A key difference is that you don't necessarily have to delve into all the intimate details of your problem for us to work effectively. My approach is also deeply focused on empowering you and helping you increase your ability to handle life confidently on your own.
Q: You mention your methods are 'customized.' What does that mean for me?
A: It means your journey is unique, so our approach will be too. If an exercise doesn’t resonate, we'll find a different creative avenue to help you reach your goal.
Q: Who is creative coaching best suited for?
A: Creative coaching is wonderful for people of all ages who often learn best through hands-on experience. The creative exercises can help internalize changes and apply them to various areas of life. All neurodivergent individuals are warmly welcomed – as a fellow neurodivergent person, this hands-on, creative path was my own key to finding peace.
Q: What kinds of challenges, feelings, or life situations can creative coaching help with?
A: Creative coaching can be a wonderful support if you're:
Feeling stuck or lacking direction.
Struggling to find your identity after major life changes like divorce, a breakup, or other transitions.
Recovering from burnout and seeking renewed energy.
Wanting to build self-esteem and confidence.
Looking for creative tools to navigate everyday stress and feelings of anxiety.
Seeking ways to find creative expression for grief and loss.
