Welcome to Moody Magpie Gallery Wall.

Healing started this journey, but the paint is what keeps me in the Flow. A living collection of my own eclectic landscapes, creative experiments, and the artwork born from my students.

The Artist Statement & Teaching Philosophy

The Artist Statement

Healing might have initially forced a paintbrush into my hand, but the practice itself is what keeps me in the Flow.

My work as an artist is inherently eclectic. While I frequently gravitate toward ethereal, dark landscapes, this gallery is not about a perfectly curated, rigid aesthetic. It is a visual resume of exploration. It holds the landscapes, the weird experiments, the beautiful mistakes, and everything in between. This practice is no longer just a therapeutic tool; it is the physical evidence of what the healing actually looks like when you are finally free to just create.

That exact same philosophy extends directly into my classroom.

As an art educator, my goal is never to produce a room full of identical, flawless paintings. I intentionally meet my students exactly where they are. I build a creative environment that fiercely prioritizes the messy, brilliant process over the final outcome. Because no two biological machines are the same, I actively adapt my teaching to accommodate as many different learning styles as possible within the room.

Whether I am painting my own shadows on a canvas or guiding a student through discovering their own creative voice, the goal remains the same: drop the perfectionism, trust the process, and let the canvas hold the rest.
